Short answer
Which towns do you serve around Duluth and Superior?
We serve all 66 communities within 45 miles of Duluth, Minnesota or Superior, Wisconsin — 43 Minnesota towns across St. Louis, Carlton, Lake and Pine Counties, and 23 Wisconsin towns across Douglas and Bayfield Counties. We are licensed in both states and charge the same rates on both sides of the bridge.
How we define the service area
The boundary is measured, not guessed: every community within 45 miles of either Duluth or Superior. Because the two anchor cities sit only about four and a half miles apart across the bay, the result is close to a single 47-mile disc over the harbour — but not exactly, and a few towns out toward Solon Springs or Moose Lake qualify on one anchor while just missing the other.
We group towns into three response bands. Core is within 15 miles, where same-day is the normal outcome and often within a couple of hours. Near is 16–30 miles, still comfortably same-day for most calls. Edge is 31–45 miles, where we run emergencies but schedule and bundle routine work — which is genuinely better value for you than paying for a dedicated hour-long trip each way.
We would rather tell you an honest arrival window than an optimistic one. On a bad February night on unplowed township roads, knowing the real answer lets you decide whether to protect the plumbing or go to a relative's.

Wisconsin 23 communities
We hold Wisconsin credentials and cross the bridges every working day. Superior and the Douglas and Bayfield County towns are core service area, not an exception, and there is no surcharge for crossing the state line. Wisconsin rebates run through Focus on Energy, and we handle that paperwork.

The climate these 66 towns share
Lake Superior moderates the shoreline and the inland townships run colder, but every community in this service area answers to the same broad numbers.
−17°F
Winter design temperature
The ASHRAE 99% figure equipment here actually has to hold. Duluth runs −17°F to −21°F depending on the station.
9,000+
Heating degree days
Roughly 9,000–10,000 HDD a year — one of the coldest urban climates in the lower 48.
8 months
Heating season
Commonly late September into May. Equipment here runs far more hours than the same unit in the Twin Cities.
−13°F
Cold-climate heat pump floor
Where a modern cold-climate heat pump still makes useful heat — which is why dual-fuel is the right answer here.
Questions about our service area
Do you charge extra to travel to Wisconsin or the outer towns?
No. The $89 diagnostic is the same anywhere in the 45-mile area, in both states, and there is no bridge surcharge for Superior or the Douglas County towns. What changes with distance is the response window, not the price.
How fast can you get to the edge of the service area?
Longer than to Duluth, and we will give you a real number rather than an optimistic one. Emergencies get run around the clock everywhere inside the 45 miles. For routine work in the edge band we schedule and bundle with other calls in the same corridor, which is better value than a dedicated trip.
Are you licensed in both Minnesota and Wisconsin?
Yes. They are separate credentials and a Twin Ports contractor needs both. We carry both, plus insurance valid in both states, and we cross the bridges every working day.
My town is not on the list. Do you still come out?
Call and ask. The list is every community we found inside a measured 45-mile radius, but small unincorporated places and rural addresses do not always appear by name. If you are inside the radius, we serve you.
No heat? Call us now.
We answer 24 hours a day, every day of the year — Duluth, Superior and every town within 45 miles, in both states. $89 diagnostic, credited toward the repair when you approve the work.
